About The Author

        Paula Danziger, the author of The Cat Ate My Gymsuit, was born on August 18, 1944 in Washington DC.  She was a children's book author, and also a teacher.  She published The Cat Ate My Gymsuit as her first book in 1974, describing what she called her "Disfunctional family".  Her father yelled a lot, and had a bad temper.  She lived her entire life afraid along with her mother who never had the courage to stand up to him.  After that, she wrote over 30 books.  Danziger Passed away on July 8, 2004 age 59 after recieving both the Ludington, and Read-A-Thon Author of the Year Awards.
